MIssion Statement
"The Academy of St. Paul + St. Ann is dedicated to a personal approach to educating the mind, body and soul.
Through a personalized approach of educating the whole child, in conjunction with our partnership with the parishes of St. Ann, St. Paul, and the Institute of the Incarnate Word, the Academy aims to serve East Harlem and the surrounding communities.
The Academy of St. Paul + St. Ann endorses the call of the Catholic Bishops of the
United States to express its educational ministry through the three objectives of personal spirituality, social justice, and a strong academic program in accord with Catholic values. This commitment extends to building Christian community and to fostering Christian service to the whole human family."
Academy of St. Paul & St. Ann is first and foremost a Catholic School. All we do here is centered around the teachings of Jesus Christ. Using Jesus Christ as the ultimate teacher, we strive to offer our students a second-to- none education fostered with Christ's love and mercy.
At Academy of St. Paul & St. Ann, we "live" Christ each and every day. We pray, we attend Mass, we celebrate Religious Holidays, we say The Pledge of Allegiance and we are Catholic and proud. We understand how Christ lives in us through the education we provide to our students.
Each Friday our students attend Mass at our Church located on 117th Street (and connected to our school). Students in each grade learn to participate and celebrate Christ through his greatest gift to us, The Eucharist. During Holy Seasons of Lent we partake in Stations of The Cross. Daily we celebrate the lives of Saints, who we model our lives after. As Pope Francis stated, "we are all called to be Saints."
We have a full sacramental program headed by our Sisters. Our Sisters work diligently to prepare students to receive Sacramental preparation and ultimately the Sacraments. Our Sisters provide wonderful spiritual leadership and moral guidance to our students each and every day. Their presence in our school is incredibly noticeable and appreciated by students, faculty and parents.
