Students in our UPK Program begin their day at 8:30 am sharp. Parents bring their children into school at the Park Avenue Entrance and escort their children up to their respective classrooms. Once the students are signed in, parents leave the building through the same door.
Dismissal for UPK students is at 2:30 PM. Only approved individuals registered with our main office will be able to pick up students.
Our students participate in a center-based learning program enriched through both the Creative Curriculum and Building Blocks curriculum. Students explore various themes throughout the year including: Buildings, Balls, Recycling and Reusing, Trees and Clothing. Throughout these themes, children are exposed to educationally rich, age-appropriate learning.
Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 must be in school by 8:05am. Students enter through the Lexington Avenue entrance and head into the cafeteria or library to do Accelerated Reading. Students are then escorted to the school gym for morning meeting.
After morning prayers and morning meeting, students are escorted to their classes by their teachers. Breakfast is served (and is waiting for the students) in their classrooms.
Instruction begins promptly at 8:30 am.
Students in Grades 1 thorough 8 are departmental. This means they change classes. They have one teacher for Math and Science and another teacher for ELA and Social Studies. Our Sisters teach students Religion. Gym, Art and Music also are scheduled for once a week.
